De Vissersvrouwen

The Women of the Fishermen

De Vissersvrouwen is the result of an inspiration overcome by a photograph of Maarten Schets.

Three figures posing, is the beginning and the end of a long wait. This wait sees the likely return of their men from the nefarious sea.

All this leads them to show to the public alternating moments of anger, prayer and even madness, until to celebrate a shortly expected ritual accompanied by the sounds of Vivaldi.

Created, in 2012, for locations like museum and galleries and performed just with sounds of waters and in silence. In 2013 was created another version to be performed in theatres as well accompanied by music, lights and use of the cyclorama.

The two versions are similar and adaptable to any kind of space.
